Temporary Sheet Piling Specialist

Temporary sheet piling is designed to provide safe access for construction, and is then subsequently removed. The fact that the sheet piles are removed once the construction works are completed mean that factors other than structural stability need to be considered, such as the potential resale value and ease of extraction of the sheet piling when required. This may entail the incorporation of a higher modulus and grade of material such that the piles are recovered with minimal damage.

We are able to design and install temporary sheet piling for a wide variety of civil engineering and building applications. Most of the company’s experience in providing this type of temporary structure has been related to the water industry where a requirement can exist to form a watertight circular or rectangular cofferdam structure within which permanent works construction can be facilitated in a safe environment.

The company is also able to design and install internal steel supporting frames to support the walls of the cofferdam. Or in the case of circular cell, bespoke waling beams at the given radius in order to maximise internal working space. Sheet piling are particularly well suited to temporary works applications in that they can be reused a number of times, and altered through burning or welding to suit different forms of structures, whilst retaining a residual value, which will depend upon their recovered condition.
