Steel pipes have been used for a long time. Depending on the production technology, steel pipe can be classified into Seamless pipes, welded pipes and casing pipes. In old days, the methods to produce steel tube was not so mature, but in modern time, the production technology develops, pipes for water and petroleum gas etc have become very popular. Large diameter pipes and pressure pipes can be produced with three main methods
Seamless pipes: The production cost is much higher than other methods, but it is the most reliable way. The largest diameter is only up to 500mm. The main benefit of seamless pipe is its strength.
Pressure pipes can operate under high pressure and don’t crack under most impacts. Even if under very abnormal loads, the steel section bend, rather than break. And these steel pipes have very effective protection against corrosion. Seamless pipes have greater combined strength and elasticity with high resistance to internal and external pressure over pipes produced by other technologies. You can find boiler pipes ,fluid pipes, hydraulic pipes etc with this product.
Welded pipes: Less expensive but not as reliable as seamless sections. Raw material is steel plate or steel coils, then wrapped around a form then welded at the seam. Welded pipes can be used in a variety of places, because they are strong and can be used underground for transporting water and gas throughout cities and towns. Other advantages: welded tubes are strong and lightweight, which means they are perfect for use in bicycle frame manufacture and in construction to protect electrical wires. Depending on the seam shape, welded tubes can be divided into spiral welded pipes, longitudinal welded pipes and ERW welded pipes. SSAW pipes can be produced in a big length without any butt welding. The longest we have produced is over 100 meters. Diameter can be over 3000mm. While thickness can be maximum around 26m. SSAW pipe is the most widely used pipes. LSAW pipe have straight welding seam. And some clients call it long welding pipes. The pipe thickness can be up to 100mm. and length can be 12m per segments. DSAW pipes are also produced from steel coils.
Casting Pipes: The steel tubing is not common and as reliable as seamless. The production cost is relatively higher because it is produced from hot liquid steel. Steel pipes can be made much thinner than pipes of other materials and they have a greater carrying capacity than pipes of other materials with the same outside diameter. Typical usages are processing pipe, off-shore pipe, Thread pipe, Precision tube, dredging pipes
