The purpose of hot rolled sheet piles MHZ17-1 this paper is to present a brief outline of the general MHZ17-2 engineering procedure for MHZ18-1 the sitting and design of jetties. After a general presentation of the formulae proposed by various engineers to determine the size and weight of individual pieces of MHZ 17-1 stone or other material which should be MHZ 17-2 used under various wave heights, this paper will be devoted principally to the construction of rubble stone jetties.
Steel sheet piling is the type MHZ18-2 principally used on the Pacific MHZ19-1 Coast of the United States MHZ19-2. The cost of construction and maintenance is usually the controlling factor in determining the type. Different types MHZ 18-1 may be practical in any locality and the cost of each type, as well as the annual cost of maintenance for different types, MHZ 18-2 should be estimated for comparison before final decision is made.
The availability MHZ 19-1 of materials will greatly influence the cost and, for some types, would affect the cost of maintenance. Rubble-mound structures require periodic repair of portions damaged by storm waves but, even though damaged, MHZ 19-2 the structure as a whole still functions, whereas breakage of a vertical face monolith structure generally leads to total destruction of portions of the whole structure and high cost of repair.
